The first thing to do is to check either the outside or inside page link button. This is used to tell the CMS if the link you create will target a page outside or inside your website.
href area - If the link target is an outside page fill this field with the address you want the link to target.
To link to a page within your CMS type in: ?page=ID, where ID is the ID number of the page you want the link to target. You may check the ID of page in the Pages management section.
page area – If the link target is a page within your website, choose the page you want it to link to from the pop down menu.
text area – This field shows the text you want your visitor to read and click when he visits your website, it will send him straight to the page you linked the text with.
class area – Changes the format of your text link. You can choose a pre-set format from the drop down menu.
target area – Changes the way the window shows when pressing the link. In this area you should write the following:
_blank – If you type in “_blank”, the browser will open the linked information in a new window.
_self – If this is typed in to the target area, the browser will open the linked information in the window in the link was pressed.
alt area –This option adds additional functionality to your website. When your visitor hovers his mouse over a link it will a little window will display the message you typed in the alt area. This function also allows you to give a name or rather a description to your picture. This function is very useful for a visitor who has pictures disabled in their browser, since he will at least be able
to see what the picture is about.
And the last thing is that you can resize the place the link is showing by using the very first width, height, top and left areas.
Thanks to this option, search engines can categorize your website and web content in a much better way, which will in turn, allow your visitors to find the information you want them to find a lot easier.
